Portrait of Teona Strugar Mitevska

Teona Strugar Mitevska is an award-winning narrative filmmaker from Macedonia. Her features (‘I Am From Tito Veles’, ‘The Woman Who Brushed Off Her Tears’ and ‘When The Day Had No Name’) all engage critically with post-Yugoslav Macedonian society and its multiple identities. Her latest film, ‘God Exists, Her Name Is Petrunya’, about the challenges a woman faces in a traditional, male-dominated society, is in competition at this year’s Berlinale.
